Seoul Fashion Week

In the early 1990s, a group of 12 Korean fashion designers launched “The Seoul Collection”, a series of runway shows that showcased homegrown designs for the country’s booming style-conscious population. Fast-forward 20 years later and the annual Seoul Fashion Week is now a by-word among international fashion retailers and buyers looking towards Asia for the latest trends and inspirations. With each staging, Seoul Fashion Week hopes to put the South Korean capital and Korean designers on the world stage, alongside major fashion capitals such as Milan, Paris and New York, as well as its Asian counterparts Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai.

In 2010, Seoul Fashion Week celebrated its official 10th anniversary (and 21st presentation) with seven days of shows staged by 15 menswear and 30 womenswear designers. This year, Seoul Fashion Week will present its Autumn and Winter 2011/2012 collections from March 28 to April 2.
